Moonen Launches Amphitrite - 8th In Successful 84 Series
Moonen Shipyards proudly announces the delivery to her owners of Amphitrite, the eighth in its very popular four-cabin Moonen 84 series. The design, introduced in 2002 with the launch of Mimi, is now Moonen's most successful semi-custom model since its founding in 1981.
The Moonen 84 is shaped by René van der Velden Design over a full-displacement hullform by naval architects Stolk Marimecs. In general, Amphitrite is a sistership of the recently launched Moonen 84s, but with some differences elected by her owners.
Her styling by Art-Line Interior Design, in consultation with the owner, includes a free-standing sofa in the saloon instead of the more usual built-in, and the owners' suite has a desk and walk-in closet. The luxury guest accommodations belowdecks feature cherrywood wall panels, furniture, headboards, and parquet floors. The main-deck saloon floor is doussie, a straight-grained African hardwood.
Like her sisters Amphitrite is powered by Caterpillar diesels and Kohler gensets, with an added Lloyd's-approved oil separator. She has electric sliding doors to her afterdeck and twin searchlights with a heat-sensing camera mounted atop the wheelhouse.
Moonen Shipyards launched also the first Moonen 97 and has currently under construction the first 99 Alu, built in Sealium, two Moonen 97 steel-hulled displacement yachts, and the first Moonen 124 Snow White, the "Queen of the Fleet."
