Major Princess Awards At London International Boat Show 2009
UK luxury boat builder Princess has picked up two prestigious awards at the annual IPC Media Motor Boat of the Year Awards announced today during the 2009 London International Boat Show.

Princess is distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Riviera’s retail organisation, R Marine.

Riviera’s Imported Product Director Alan Paterson said the awards reflected the quality and craftsmanship of the Princess Euro-style motor yachts.

“We are very proud of this achievement by Princess,” he said. “It comes as no surprise to our team. We have prepared the boats for delivery to our customers for the past two years and appreciate the boat builders’ focus on detail and presentation. That focus wins awards just as Riviera has won our local Boat of the Year award for the past two years.”

The IPC awards recognise and celebrate great design, superb performance and innovation in the production of motorboats. All shortlisted entries were judged by the editorial test teams of Motor Boat & Yachting and Motor Boats Monthly magazines.

Princess picked up awards for:

• Sportscruisers above 45ft (14m): Princess V45
• Flybridge below 50ft (15m): Princess 50

The judges praised the Princess 50, saying it was “a phenomenal example of just how far boat design has come . . . even larger boats would struggle to deliver a three-cabin layout of this calibre”.

The Princess V45 was reported to possess “true greatness” and offered “the kind of external cool looks that will turn heads for a lifetime”.

Mr Paterson said the first of the new Princess V45 boats had arrived in Australia this week.

“We are very excited to have this new model. It represents great value and style.

“We showed the Princess 50 for the first time at the Sydney International Boat Show. This beautiful three cabin flybridge motor yacht with its full width master stateroom offers the owner a level of spaciousness and comfort never previously enjoyed on a yacht of this size.”
