Hatteras Celebrates Its Inaugural Yacht Expo

More than 300 special guests and sponsors gathered in New Bern, N.C., on July 13-14, for the inaugural Hatteras Yacht Expo. This event was a first-of-its-kind experience for Hatteras owners and interested guests alike, offering sea trials, plant tours, informative seminars, opportunities to contribute to future yacht designs, and a sneak peek at new models scheduled to debut in the coming year.

Hatteras also hosted VIP parties each night that included entertainment from comedian Tom Wilson, a book signing by New Bern resident Nicholas Sparks and valuable prize giveaways. A boat parade showcased all models in the current product line, including the latest additions to the Hatteras Fleet, the 77 Convertible and the 60GT Tournament Edition.

Guests making purchases during the event took advantage of their choice of three special promotions: a new Harley-Davidson® motorcycle, an anniversary edition of a Brunswick Billiards table, or a Boston Whaler® Montauk 150 powered by a 60-hp Mercury Marine® outboard engine. Presenting sponsors for this year’s event were Gregory Poole/CAT Marine Power and MTU/Covington Power Solutions. In total, the Expo featured 38 supporting sponsors and partners.

“This first Hatteras Yacht Expo has been more successful than we could have imagined,” said Mark Harakal, Hatteras president. “It has been wonderful having so many guests visit us over the past few days. The expo has given our customers and friends a wonderful opportunity to see our facility and meet the fine people that make Hatteras stand out from the competition. Not only did we sell several boats, we built a great foundation for many successful Expos to come.”
