Great Success of the Rodman Muse 54
The Rodman Muse 54, the first yacht from Rodman’s new premier Muse range, has enjoyed unprecedented success since her global launch at Barcelona International Boat Show 2006. Twelve 54s - or the entire production run for 2007 - have been sold, meaning that orders are now being accepted for Spring 2008.

The Rodman Muse 54 is the result of a close and dedicated collaboration between the Rodman Polyships shipbuilding team and the Ital Design studio of the Italian designer Fulvio de Simoni. The combination of both specialists, with their long respective experience in naval architecture and vessel design, led to this breathtaking new yacht - the undisputed star of the Barcelona International Boat Show.

The Rodman Muse 54 is the first model in the exclusive Rodman Muse range of premium quality flybridge yachts with lengths up to 108 feet. The second model in this series is the Rodman Muse 74, currently under final production in the Rodman shipyards on the Ría de Vigo estuary, with this first hull due for completion before the summer.

The Rodman Muse range is Rodman's commitment to the future, and shows the acquired competence and experience of the Spanish shipbuilder, combining the key Rodman features of seaworthiness, robust construction and exceptional reliability with the highest levels of quality, the most refined designs, peerless elegance and the optimum technologies available.

To achieve perfection in detailing, and the level of quality required for the Rodman Muse 54, Rodman reviewed its entire build and manufacturing processes as part of the RQS – Rodman Quality System. This has led to the superior level of finish which can be seen and felt in the Rodman Muse 54, which compares favourably with craft much longer than her own 16.9 metres.

Fulvio de Simoni's design team, with the shipping architecture experts at Rodman, has created a new style, a fusion of beauty and personality, of elegance and functionality. Maximum advantage has been taken of available volume to obtain a result that is strikingly attractive and original, with a high degree of comfort.

The exterior design of the Rodman Muse 54 is distinguished by the clearly defined lines in the flybridge superstructure, with harmoniously set side-screens, and sweeping saloon windows, that lend her an individual personality; a combination of innovation, elegance and performance.

The design of the flybridge provides an elevated sunbathing area and is fully equipped with versatile seating, wetbar with barbeque and an extending table for enjoying the outdoors, when under way or at anchor. For the skipper, all controls are to hand, with superb all-round visibility and ergonomic helm.

The interior design creates a bright and modern atmosphere, based on a refined modular design using a combination of fine materials, attractive colour schemes and inventive use of light and volumes throughout all the interior areas and cabins.

The Rodman Muse 54 layout consists of a full-beam central owner's cabin with private ensuite bathroom, a starboard twin guest cabin and another VIP double cabin in the bows, with a versatile guest bathroom. The raised galley is located on the airy forward saloon deck, with U-shaped lounging areas and practical stowage. The commanding interior helm position is efficiently set out to starboard, with perfect sight-lines running aft through the aft lounge doors.

An optional single crew cabin can be located aft, perfectly integrated into the hull lines and equipped with its own bathroom, ventilation and stowage area. Accessed through the teak-laid aft cockpit, this volume is otherwise a very practical further lazarette.

The structural integrity of the Rodman Muse 54 results in a robust hull with exceptional sea-keeping abilities. Thanks to a high displacement figure for length and correct motor options selection, optimum operational efficacy is enabled.

The revised RQS procedures which cover the design, engineering, structural soundness, safety and shipbuilding processes, are based on Rodman's long experience, gained over more than 30 years, and exceed the industry's highest standards. These standards are rigorously followed throughout the entire construction process.

The hull, deck, superstructure and flybridge mouldings are manufactured using composite fibreglass and sandwich lamination in epoxy resin, in order to obtain the highest performance and maximum durability. The shaded aft cockpit, with comfortable seating, is laid with selected teak, as are the steps to the flybridge.

Her advanced tank systems for fuel and water provision permit longer range navigation of more than 300 miles without re-fuelling; black and grey-water systems allow maximum cruising freedom.

Safety at sea, another one of Rodman's basic objectives in all models, takes both the owner and the crew’s welfare into consideration, so that they can enjoy yachting in any foreseeable conditions:

The Rodman Muse 54 is equipped with Consilium fire-suppression, linking smoke and temperature detectors to a visual and audible alarm panel at the lower helm, in addition to three portable fire extinguishers.

The owner can choose from three high-performance diesel options. All have electronic synchronisation and injection for enhanced emission control. ZF reducing gearboxes run on V-drive through shafts to a pair of bronze-aluminium high performance 4-bladed propellers.

Lenco electronic trim tabs with twin-piston rams ensure complete controllability and balance in all conditions.

The decks and the all inner accommodation spaces are completely isolated from the engine room, which has a complete barrier of Halyard soundproof and fireproof insulation.

For easy access to the stern of the yacht, the Rodman Muse 54 has a Besenzoni electro-hydraulic passarelle on her bathing platform, and also an integrated automated bathing ladder for boarding from the water.

The aft cockpit sole, bathing platform and the flybridge steps are laid in teak for durability, grip and comfort.

High-thrust twin-prop bowthrusters make mooring and casting off a joy, with powered stern manoeuvring winches taking the sweat out of berthing procedures.

The ergonomically-designed main interior helm position is equipped with an anti-glare matt dash, adjustable double seat and steering wheel, Raytheon autopilot and flybridge repeater. Twin-station Raytheon VHF, with booster repeat, differential GPS of 12 channels and precision of three metres are also included.

A Sony audiovisual home cinema with individual output for each cabin is installed in the lounge area. All furniture is modern and linear in design, with use of the finest quality wood and trim materials throughout the yacht and her doors, cabin walls and ceilings.

The spacious, carefully designed open-plan galley is perfectly integrated, with panelled Bosch refrigerator, dishwasher, glass-ceramic hob, microwave, Waeco freezer and twin sinks sitting underneath a reassuringly heavy and durable Silestone worktop. The yacht’s 650-litre freshwater tank with electric immersion heater and 60-litre storage heater take care of all on-board water demands.
