Club Swan 42: A True Champion
Since the launch of the Club Swan 42 in October 2006, the one design racer / cruiser from Nautor’s Swan has enjoyed success on an international platform with an impressive record of victories in the short period it has been on the racing scene.
Following the success of the inaugural Club Swan 42 National Championships at the NYYC in 2007, the class has grown in popularity and recognition. Currently in the latter stages of the Nautor’s Swan 2008 Racing Circuit the Club Swan 42 class has enjoyed a successful first year with strong competition and representation at all IRC events.
The list of honours and awards the Club Swan 42 has to it’s name is a testament to Nautor’s Swans evolution and ambition to produce yachts of unrivalled build quality and prestige and foster a growing demand for competitive racing.
Born out of groundbreaking partnership with the New York Yacht Club, the Club Swan 42 was designed by the Frers design team in collaboration with Nautor’s Swan to meet the one design requirements of the club and encourage a return to traditional Corinthian style racing. The concept used the latest thinking in design and construction and made an impressive early impact in the IRC circuit.
Building a reputation for a model that enjoys a strong class association and enforcing an owner driving ruling, the one design model is light, responsive and fast and proved an instant favourite among amateur yachtsman looking to compete in a controlled environment.
